This is a photograph from when the Little Rock Nine attended Little Rock Central High School in 1957. I like this photograph because it was taken during a very controversial time in history, yet the woman in the photo shows unwavering strength and power as she walks into an all white school. It perfectly demonstrates what life was like back in the 50's in the eyes of a black individual.
