This photo was taken by the amazing Rui Dias, a photographer that actually won third place in the Urban Photography of the Year competition. I love this photograph because of the use of shadows and light. The contrast is perfect and really captures the emotion and distress felt during a fire. I also love the depth of field in this photo. The man in the front is so crisp and clear but the background is more grungy and foggy. It makes the photo look smoky, which is perfect for the theme.
