I like this photo because of the color, lighting and silhouette. It's very serene and invokes a sense of calmness. A lot of his photos are of landscapes but he also does food and people. They're all so vibrant and have beautiful composition.

This is a picture called "The kiss to end the war", that I have always liked. There is so much emotion caught in the picture that really warms your heart. I have always had a love for NYC and that is where the picture was taken which is another reason that I like it so much. I have had this picture hanging in my bedroom since I was in middle school. I love that the picture is in black and white and the olden day style.

I like this photo because I feel like the image is capturing a kid running into their dreams. Everyone has had dreams of what they want to do and I feel like that is what this image says. I feel like people shouldn't give up on their dreams either. This image also stuck out to me because it is black and white and it makes the image more powerful. 

Assignment #3

This picture is one that I took a few summers ago at a cabin in Wisconsin. It reminds me of warmer weather and the memories we made that weekend. The water was so calm that night, and the sunlight reflecting off of the water just made everything shimmer. The sun shining over the clouds gives the sensation that light can always overcome darkness.

A few years ago I did a photo research project on this photography duo and ever since then I've been in love with their photographs.  This one in particular always grabs my attention. The most fascinating part of their images is that their older photographs use photomontage and painting techniques instead of photoshop.  The images feature an "Everyday man" doing tasks to help clean up the Earth and protect it from what mankind has ruined.  The image reminds us of our effect on nature and what we can do to protect it.  Although most of the images were done in the 2000's, the sepia effect gives them an aged look, which I find aesthetically more interesting than color photos.  

Image I Like - "Allegiance"

        My intention when I created this photograph was to communicate a message of allegiance to the viewer. My sister is the subject of this photograph. I decided to drape the flag of Thailand on her because she is very patriotic. I like this photograph because I noticed the message behind her eyes, "No matter where you are now, you should always be proud of where you came from."
