Skydiving

Last summer I decided to start a bucket list and the first thing I wanted to check off that list was skydiving. It was one of the most unreal moments of my life, an experience hat cannot possibly be explained through words. I can't wait to do more crazy things like it. This photo was taken by the photographer that jumped just before I did. I was attached to the man in the picture (those are my feet).

Photo Credit: Myself. I took this photo while in Mexico last year. At the time of the photo a couple fisherman had just reached shore with their boat full of fish. Immediately the birds flocked in hopes to receive the "throwbacks" for a little snack. I like this photo because it captures the beautiful colors on the birds beaks, also it shows great depth of field. Another aspect of the photo I like is the reflections of the birds in the water. This image has a lot of life to it and I think that is what captures and draws me in most about this photo.

Hawaii Picture

I decided to share this picture because it is a gorgeous picture of Hawaii where I will actually be going to school in Fall semester of next year! I am really excited about this so I have been looking at a lot of pictures from there. This one is my favorite because it's the beach right next to my University! :) I really like the way this picture has a view from the sky because it gives it a really cool feel to it.

Photo I like

I like this photo, because, even though its just a woman, some balloons and a wheelchair, the sum of its parts is "hope."

Every time I see this image I smile because it reminds me of the mission's trip I took with my church family awhile back.  It shows that children who don't have really anything can still have fun and laugh when someone is willing to take time out of their day and play with them.

Image That I Like

I like this photo because of the difference of light. The tunnel is brightly lit. The size of the guy on the skateboard pales in comparison to the height the tunnel appears to be. I think the skateboard suggests he is going  somewhere, like a journey, and the tunnel and light in it are supposed to guide him on his path.

The Image I Like

I like this image because of the statement it makes about America. People are so caught up in their own bullshit that they can't even notice a suffering person right in front of them. But even if they did notice this man, chances are they wouldn't acknowledge his existence anyway. This homeless man represents an inconvenient truth about society that many people do not want to accept or talk about.
I love how this photo juxtaposes two very different worlds. The oblivious women inside are happy. The weathered man outside looks broken. The "happy" inside looks warm and inviting, which complements the feeling found there. The outside looks cold and bleak, which too complements the feeling it provokes.
