Assignment 1.3
I chose this photo from when I went to Puerto Rico last January with my swim team. I just thought the buildings in San Juan were so interesting and diverse.
Assignment 1.3
I chose this photo because I took it when I was in Germany and this photo brings me good memories. I also like how the clouds look around the mountains. Overall, I love how this photo turned out and it's one of my favorite pictures I've taken.

Assignment 1.3
I chose this photo because being I am from Fargo it seemed fitting, not only that but it was taken by one of my classmates back in high school, she is a very skilled photographer and has been voted the best photographer in Fargo 2017. Her use of light painting is so flawless and perfectly spells out "Fargo" with a creative display.
Assignment 1.3
I chose this photo because it's one of my favorite ones that I have personally taken. This is a photo of one of my closest friends, Grayson DeWolfe, who is a musician. I like this photo because it captures him in his natural element of singing and playing guitar. Nothing about it is posed. I think it's important to capture people when they are being themselves and doing the things that they love because that's when you see who they truly are. Here, you can see that Grayson is fully focused on his music, like it's the only thing that matters, because in that moment, that was the only thing that mattered to him. (Settings: 1/250 sec f/6.0 ISO 900)
Assignment 1.3
This is
a photo of red leaves and snow that I took at my Japanese university last fall.
I think the contrast between red and white is very beautiful. Usually, in
Japan, we cannot see red leaves and snow at the same time, because red leaves
are the synonym for fall and snow is the one for winter. Therefore, it is rare
and you can enjoy two seasons in one photo.
1.3
I chose this picture because it reminded me of multiple family trips, and seeing Devil's Tower in person. They did a really good job at capturing the light to bring out it's true beauty.

1.3
I like this photograph because the juxtaposition of the police in riot gear running up against leshia Evans, a peaceful protester during a Black Lives Matter demonstration in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is powerful and shows the stark contrast between the opposing forces of the protesters and police. My interest in being a journalist is to follow and give exposure to social justice movements in the United States, such as this one. Aside from a love of learning history, I believe it is imperative for others to know our histories, however grotesque, in order to learn from the mistakes and grievances of the past and to make sure they are not repeated. This photo was shot by Jonathan Bachman, who is a freelance photojournalist based in New Orleans.

Assignment 1.3
What can I say, I like a classic picture. Historically speaking, there are many images that rouse national pride, complete outrage, and pure joy from its viewers, but not many can capture the hearts of millions of people, in a time where the the world shuddered from the weight of human loss. This image expresses the grandeur of celebration with its depth of field, yet makes it incredibly personal with how the exposure paints an image over the shape of the couple. So yeah... Its pretty cool.
Assignment 1.3
I chose this photo by Brandon Woelfel because I love his use of lights. In nearly every photo he takes, light is utilized in the most beautiful and unique ways and his photos always come out beautiful. I love taking pictures of people and his photos always make me feel inspired to try new things with my photography.

Assignment 1.3
I enjoy this photo because Albert Einstein is a name that instantly links with genius, yet this in photo it shows that he had a goofy and personable side. So often we can’t relate to famous names because we feel like we are so distant from them. This silly image of Albert makes him feel more real.

Assignment 1.3
I really like this picture because the caption next to it is "Life moves fast - take it in." I captures a view that we could see everyday, but may never really "take in" or notice. It also paints a picture of how fast our lives seem to move.

Assignment 1.3
I really like this photo because it's very whimsical. I love photo's that have a magical feel and the editing on this really exemplifies that vibe. This particular photographer always creates amazing work with his edits, especially with the color editing and the work with lights.
Assignment 1.3
This is a photo that a friend of mine (Jared Eischen) took last week with his drone. I love the vibrant colors and I'm a big fan of wide angle aerial shots. I think it's really interesting since it's a perspective that we don't see very often.

Assignment 1.3
I chose this photo I had captured earlier this August because it demonstrates my origins growing up in a small agricultural community being a Farmers Daughter. Although this photo is simplistic it is very calming to me with the wheat whispering in the endless field. This wheat was planted behind my farm house this spring which I captured it right before it was combined.
